Most activities at and around Six Lakes revolve around the wonderful lakes and natural environment. Guests at Six Lakes never run out of things to do. Our guests are sure to enjoy our trophy trout fishing, canoeing, exploring, hiking, mountain biking, wildlife viewing, and many other activities explained below. Many of our guests also tell us their favorite thing is just to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings, the quiet, and the secluded location. We have worked hard during the development of Six Lakes to ensure that the natural beauty, wildlife, and environment of the area are not adversely impacted and we encourage our guests to aid in this goal. Fishing
Six Lakes provide some of the best private stillwater fishing in all of Utah. With nearly perfect conditions for fish growth and a commitment to fishery management and conservation – Six Lakes is one of the best fishing destinations anywhere. Because our lakes are managed by catch-and-release fishing, every guest at Six Lakes will enjoy catching plenty of hungry trout. Guests can look forward to potentially catching the fish of a lifetime while enjoying the beauty of the high desert environment. For more information about fishing at Six Lakes, please visit the Fishing section of this web site by clicking here.

Canoeing & Rowing
All of the lakes provide excellent opportunity for canoeing and rowing. All guests are allowed to use our canoes and rowboats to explore the lakes, find the perfect fishing spot, or just soak in some sun and view the wildlife. During the hot summer months, a water fight on the lakes is always fun and can be quite refreshing. Rowboats work very well for fishing, but those guests that plan to spend a large amount of time searching for trophy fish might want to rent one of our mobile and fishing-friendly drift-boats.

Mountain Biking
Mountain Biking – all guests should spend some time exploring the property on a mountain bike. The many trails and dirt roads at Six Lakes provide ample opportunity to explore by bike. We ask that all mountain bikers be very careful not to destroy the natural landscape and beauty of Six Lakes – staying on roads, trails, and in designated areas is the best way to do this. Mountain bikes may be rented at our nearby Hidden Springs Activities Center.

Hiking, Exploring
Six Lakes is paradise for those who like to hike and explore. Located right out of your cabin door are numerous hiking and game trails. With lots of cliffs, small caves, and juniper trees – hiking at Six Lakes is always an adventure. During even the shortest hike, guests are sure to see a variety of wildlife. We encourage all hikers and explorers to remember they are in very fragile ‘high desert’ terrain. The soil structure is easily damaged and exposed to erosion and some of the plants take many years to grow. Please stay on roads, game trails, or designated hiking areas.

Bird & Animal Watching
Six Lakes is teeming with wildlife; the abundance of nearby water draws wildlife from the surrounding areas. Guest will enjoy looking for birds, deer, elk, rabbits, foxes, a variety of rodents, lizards, raccoons, skunks, beaver, and an occasional coyote or bobcat. It is also common to see a variety of ducks, eagles, hawks, loons, blue herons, and songbirds of all types. Lucky guests, especially in the winter, will likely see a rare and majestic bald eagle.

Swimming
During summer months all Six Lakes guests will want to take a swim in one of the lakes or Big Sandwash Reservoir. With water temperatures in the mid 70’s swimming can be a pleasant refresher during the warm summer afternoon. Also, both cabins have large hot tubs well suited to relaxing after activity filled days.

Repelling & Rock Climbing
The cliffs on the north side of Cliff Lake make a fun short sandstone climb. Those guests experienced in climbing and rappelling may want to spend some time playing around on the cliffs. We do not provide any harnesses, ropes, or other hardware – so those planning to repel or climb will need to bring their own gear and sign a liability waiver. We also recommend a short trip to our Hidden Springs Activity Center for the chance to climb on our 30 foot rock wall.

Games
With large living rooms in each cabin, a game room in Loon Cabin, and plenty of space to roam outside, games are always a favorite at Six Lakes. After dark, when other activities are not a possibility, group games can provide hours of fun. The cabins are also stocked with an assortment of board games and children’s games.

Barbeque
There is nothing like eating a well-cooked barbeque meal while enjoying the sights, sounds, and smells of nature. The cabins each have gas grills and all the necessary tools. If an open fire is more your style, each camping and cabin site has a nice fire pit perfect for roasting marshmallows and hot dogs or Dutch Oven cooking.

Campfires
All cabin sites and camping sites have developed fire pits with benches. All guests will want to enjoy an evening around the fire telling stories and playing games. Firewood at the cabin sites is provided and firewood can be purchased at the camping site. While enjoying an evening fire, keep an eye out for our resident nocturnal creatures like owls, racoons, and bats, and an open ear for howling coyotes.

Star Gazing
One benefit of being away from the lights of the city is the ability to really see the innumerable stars how they were meant to be observed. On a clear quiet night stargazing can be one of the most enjoyable activities at Six Lakes.

Relaxing
An afternoon nap can make all the difference during a busy vacation. We always encourage our guests to take a break from playing and enjoy a quiet and relaxing nap or just to soak up a few rays by the lake. For some guests, being able to relax and read a book or magazine is their favorite part of Six Lakes. Whether you like to read indoors or outdoors, you’ll find plenty of places to relax and enjoy.
