Of all the outdoor activities at Six Lakes, the trophy trout fishing ranks at the top. Our guests enjoy one of the top trout fisheries in Utah and perhaps one of the best lake fisheries in the West. We pride ourselves on managing the fisheries to provide the best habitat possible for trout numbers and growth. These lakes are home to several trout species and varieties including Rainbow, Brown, Brook, and Tiger trout. Our private lakes are popular with Utah fly fishers looking to land a real trophy on a fly rod. In addition to the fishing access included with cabin rentals, day fishing passes and fishing memberships are also available. Guided Fishing
The most enjoyable (and productive) way to fish at Six Lakes is with one of our experienced fly fishing guides. They will provide you with the absolute best opportunity to catch fish and can help to teach youngsters or adults. Whether you are a beginner or an expert fisherman we encourage you to look into our guided fishing. For more information on guided fly fishing, including rates, click here.

Area Fishing
Not all the great fishing is located right on the Six Lakes property. With the South Slope of the Uinta Mountains literally in our backyard, the opportunity for stream, lake, and river fishing near Six Lakes is abundant. For a list of fishing locations and opportunities, click here.

Fisheries Management
Our lakes are all carefully managed by our on staff fisheries biologist to provide quality fishing for several trout species. Our guests may enjoy casting to trophy Brook trout on Loon Lake, fishing for large Steelhead strain Rainbow trout in Duck, Totem and Cliff Lakes, chasing big wary Brown trout at Eagle and Island Lakes, or going after the aggressive and unique Tiger trout found in Eagle and Island Lakes. Everyone will enjoy the excitement, relaxation, and natural beauty of fishing at Six Lakes.
Fishing Rules
At Six Lakes, we require that everyone practice catch-and-release fishing with flies or artificial lures on all our waters. We encourage anglers to take pictures to show off to friends and family but to then quickly return the fish to the water for another lucky fisherman. Occasionally a fresh trout for the dinner table or a youngster’s first fish may be kept and enjoyed for a fee. Please visit our fishing rules page for more information on releasing fish and other fishing guidelines.
