The ice has been melting fast off the lakes at Six Lakes Resort and Fishing Preserve in the last few weeks and is all gone now. We have had a few fishermen come out and fish in the last seven days. The fish are still staying deep in the lakes and are moving slowly with the cold-water temperatures. Those fishermen that are willing to spend a little time and fish deep will be rewarded with healthy, big trout.
As the warm spring afternoons heat the water temperature to above 50 degrees the trout will become more active and feed more aggressively. Fishing will become particularly good in April and May and trout will actively feed all day long as their metabolism speeds up and they are constantly looking for food to keep up with their fast metabolism. April and May are great for spring fishing in Utah!
March is a wonderful time of year with the lakes opening, the fishing starting to get good, and the waterfowl and shoreline birds showing up to land and feed in the open water on the lakes. March and April are some of our favorite months of the year at Six Lakes. The birds and wildlife are abundant, the fishing is good, the prices to rent a cabin are low, and there are not many people around. We also enjoy the weather this time of year. The mornings and evenings are cool and make for a perfect opportunity to hike, mountain bike, and soak in the hot tub. The warm afternoons are great for fishing, relaxing on the deck, bird watching, canoeing, kayaking, and swimming.
The peace and privacy at Six Lakes is wonderful for Utah family vacations to enjoy time away, relax outdoors, and get some great spring fishing. The family cabins at Six Lakes are furnished and perfect for families to relax and enjoy privacy together, play games, and enjoy meals as a family. The great recreation that the lakes and hiking and biking trails provide give endless opportunities for everyone in the family. Come enjoy a weekend away at Six Lakes Resort and Fishing Preserve with your family this spring!
