Winter has arrived at Six Lakes Resort and Fishing Preserve. This is a special time of year at Six Lakes and families and groups of fishermen love to enjoy the peace and solitude of the winter season. Families love to gather during December and celebrate Christmas and New Years. It is a wonderful place to gather with family and enjoy the beautiful preserve while ice fishing and viewing the abundant wildlife on the preserve. During the winter evenings families enjoy eating great food, playing games, and soaking in the hot tub at the lodge. It is a wonderful time of year for families to gather and enjoy time together for Christmas and enjoy the beauty of wildlife and nature at the Six Lakes Preserve. 

Winter is also a wonderful time of year for families to gather at Six Lakes that enjoy bird hunting. The bird hunting season opens in the fall and goes all winter until the end of March. During the fall and winter months hunters and their families love to gather at Six Lakes and enjoy both hunting and fishing during their stay. The Pleasant Valley Hunting Preserve just down the road from Six Lakes is one of the best bird hunting preserves in the western United States and offers world-class bird hunting for small and large groups. It is a one of the best times of the year for bird hunters and fishermen.

The winter is also an amazing time of year for wildlife viewing at Six Lakes Preserve. Families that enjoy hiking and viewing wildlife will love this time of year. The deer have moved down from the mountains and are abundant on the preserve. Foxes, coyotes, hawks, and small mammals can be seen all around the Six Lakes preserve and it is a wonderful time of year to enjoy the beauty of the preserve and the abundant wildlife.
