Fall Fishing in Utah

Six Lakes is amazing in the fall months. It is one of our favorite times of the year because of the great fall fishing, mild weather, and beautiful fall colors and sunsets. Families and groups of friends will love this time of year. Here are some of our favorite activities at Six Lakes in October and November.

Fishing is always one of our favorite activities at Six Lakes Resort and Fishing Preserve. In October and November, the fishing is great and some of the biggest brown and tiger trout show up in these fall months. If you are looking to catch a fish of a lifetime this is the time of year to come out and spend some time on the water searching for a monster fish. Woolly buggers and leech patterns are the best way to find a big brown or tiger trout. The rainbows are also actively feeding this time of year. Woolly buggers with a nymph dropped off a couple of feet will produce many rainbows during this time of year. During the colder days fish sit deep in the lake and fishing buggers and leeches on a sinking line and working them along the bottom of the lake will often produce the most fish.

Groups staying at Six Lakes will enjoy a beautiful paddle around the lakes on the property in one of the kayaks, canoes, or john boats on the property. During the morning hours the lakes are calm and it is a great time of day to be paddling around the lakes and enjoying the beautiful fall colors, the wildlife, and water birds. The late evenings are also an amazing time to be out on the lakes fishing and watching the fall sunsets as they light up the sky and lakes. It truly is a breathtaking time of year to be out on the lakes at Six Lakes Resort and Fishing Preserve.

The cool weather in the fall is a great time to sit in the hot tub or around the campfire. The fall evenings at Six Lakes are beautiful with the crisp air and fall sunsets. These are probably the best months of the year to relax in the hot tub during the evening. It is also a great time of year to sit around a campfire and roast hot dogs and marshmallows.

We hope to see you and your family this fall at Six Lakes Resort and Fishing Preserve!
