Utah Fall Fishing

Fall fishing at Six Lakes is just around the corner and is one of the most spectacular times of the year to be at Six Lakes Resort and Fishing Preserve. The cool nights have the water temperature perfect for trout by the middle of September and late September and early October is some of the best fishing of the year.

Family groups and groups of friends love to come out September through November and canoe on the lakes, fish, soak in the hot tub, sit around the campfire, and relax on the deck watching the wildlife come down and drink out of the lake. This is the ideal time to be at Six Lakes with a group of family or friends. The wildlife is actively getting ready for winter, the waterfowl are migrating south for the winter and stopping at Six Lakes on their journey south. The nights are cool, so sitting around the campfire or soaking in the hot tub in the evenings feels amazing in the crisp fall air. The water temperatures are perfect for trout, so the fish are actively feeding most of the day stocking up for the winter. The willows are turning yellow, and the fall colors make for beautiful contrasts to the blue water.  It truly is a magical time of year at Six Lakes.

Six Lakes Resort and Fishing Preserve is just a couple hours east of Salt Lake City.  It is an easy place to have a weekend away from work and the problems of everyday life. Many of our guests leave work or home in the late afternoon or after work on a Friday and are at Six Lakes by dinner time. They spend all Friday evening relaxing, canoeing, fishing, and soaking in the hot tub. Saturday, they have the entire day to relax and enjoy the beauty of the preserve.  They leave Sunday late morning and are back home by Sunday afternoon.  It is an easy way to get away for the weekend with family and friends.  We hope to see you at Six Lakes this fall for some Utah fall fishing.
