The fishing is red hot at Six Lakes right now! May is always a great month to be fishing at Six Lakes, because the weather is great, the fishing is amazing, and the sunsets over the water are something spectacular to see.
The swimming pool opens in May and the recreation opportunities are truly endless this time of year even if you do not fish. Hiking and biking trails wind through the Six Lakes Resort and Fishing Preserve. Canoes and rowboats are available for guest to use on the lakes. The swimming pool and hot tub are fun for families and children to enjoy day and night. Paddle boarding, lake kayaking, and fishing for crayfish are also options for guests. Groups that want to play games together will enjoy sand volleyball, horseshoes, campfires, and lawn games.
Over the next month and a half, the fishing will be some of the best of the year. It will also be that special time of the year when the weather is mild and just about ever recreation opportunity is available for those visiting us at Six Lakes.
In July and August, the weather gets hot, and the water recreation continues to be spectacular, but the hot weather causes the fish to live deeper in the lake and harder to catch. As the weather cools in the evenings the fish begin to move to shallower water again and are easier to find. September through November the fishing is amazing as the fish move into shallow water again with the cooler temperatures.
Six Lakes Resort and Fishing Preserve is a spectacular property for groups of all sizes and recreation interests. Our camper cabins are perfect for a couple or a few fishermen. The Loon Lodge is just the right size for a couple of families or a group of friends. Large groups can rent out multiple cabins or the entire resort.
Come out and enjoy the beautiful nature and endless outdoor recreation at Six Lakes!
